Windows App Store: Microsoft Devices May Soon Finally Have One App Store For Purchases And Downloads

For some time now, Microsoft has been aiming to keep against Apple and Google as far as operating system is concerned. But because it has several platforms for PC and a mobile OS, it will definitely find it difficult to do so. But according to some sources, the Redmond company is now planning to unify its Windows App Store.

In a report by The Verge, a tip from an unnamed source said that the company would launch one application (and later perhaps a website) to create just one app store for all Windows products and applications.

This alleged unified Windows App Store may go live in spring next year according to the rumor.

Microsoft currently has two 'stores', the Windows Store for PCs and Windows Phone Store for mobile, wherein applications and products are found. The rumored combination of the two would mean Microsoft is looking to optimize applications and other software to run on both its PC and mobile platforms.

While optimizing all of the applications is rather difficult, we think several crucial apps can make it, which could deliver better user experience for people who use multiple Windows-powered devices.

Still, we should take this news with a pinch of salt as no official statement has been made yet.
