Recent iPad 5 release date rumors suggest that the next-generation of iOS tablet could arrive mid-October.

International Business Times mentioned a possible iPad 5 release date, which is October 15. Citing the French blog, MacGeneration, the report said that Apple will be holding a special media event on the 15^th of October which will focus on iPad products. However, as the report posted, it "did not clarify whether the event would include the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini, or iPad mini 2" but rumors are suggesting that this forthcoming event will unleash both the next-generation tablet models.

Moreover, a separate post from International Business Times, stated that aside from iPad 5 release, Apple's media event possibly happening on October 15 will also unveil the updated version of the iMac and the new MacOS.

This iPad 5 release date rumor was patterned from Apple's release history for the current version of its tablet. iPad 4 and iPad Mini were launched in late-October of last year, after announcing the iPhone 5 and the latest generation of iPod touch in September.

Moreover, another report was cited by IB Times, which said that based on the report from iDownloadblog, iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 release date may likely fall in October. Aside from the iPad 5 release date, possible specs of the devices were also mentioned including a thinner dimension for the iPad 5, which will sport the same technology used for the iPad Mini 2.
