Alanis Morissette Sued By Ex-Nanny For "Holding Her Hostage" During 12-Hour Shifts, Not Allowed To Leave Nursery To Eat, Use Bathroom

Alanis Morissette is being sued by her ex-nanny, who claims the singer effectively held her hostage.

Alanis Morissette oughta know ....to treat her staff better--but apparently she doesn't. Morissette's nanny claims she worked 12-hour shifts without so much as a break to go to the bathroom or eat. Morissette also owes her thousands of dollars in unpaid overtime, the nanny claims.

The angry Canadian singer seemingly turned into normal Canadian mommy is being sued for holding the nanny hostage inside the baby's bedroom. The nanny was not allowed to leave under any circumstances-not even to eat or use the bathroom-during the overnight shifts.

The nanny was only allowed to leave the room where Morissette's newborn infant slept if one of the parents were in the room (and we can assume they were sleeping) or when the day shift nanny came to replace her.

Bianca Cambeiro, the Alanis Morissette nanny, filed a lawsuit against Morissette and her husband Mario Treadway. During her employment as their nanny from from August 2011 to March 2013. She is asking for $30,000 in unpaid overtime and other wages and $100,000 for emotional distress.

Alanis' representatives have not commented yet.

What do you think? Is this story a little too ironic?
