Zac Efron has emerged following news that he was in rehab twice this year for cocaine addiction. Zac Efron posted a photo on Twitter from his recent trip to Peru with his father, presumably to get away from the rehab scandal surrounding him in Hollywood.

Zac Efron took to his Twitter to make his first comments about his time in rehab this year. He posted a photo of him looking very happy and at peace in Peru, wearing hiking boots, shorts, a bandanna around his head, and a big backpack, with the backdrop of the beautiful mountains of Peru.

Zac Efron captioned the Twitter photo: ""Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks...means the world to me. Love you guys! - Z"

We're guessing Zac left to Peru amid the rumors that he had gone to rehab twice this year for cocaine addiction, presumably to get out of town with his family until the news settled down.

As we previously reported, Zac Efron went to rehab for the first time for cocaine addiction, and then returned after a relapse, according to TMZ.

Sources told the website that Zac has been doing coke for more than 2 years, and was also into Molly, a form of the drug ecstasy.  In March, Zac Efron attempted to get professional help for his addiction to coke, and left California to stay in a private residence where he received intensive outpatient care for several weeks.

But it reportedly wasn't enough. In April, Zac relapsed and allegedly was not showing up on the set, due to his addiction, TMZ reports.

Once filming wrapped up, sources say Efron went back to rehab for a second go at outpatient care.
