Original Rosie The Riveter Still Working At 93-Years-Old: Famous Photo, Still Doing What She Did During WWII

Original Rosie the Riveter still working: 93-years-old and working as hard as she was when the famous photo of her during World War II surfaced.

It was 70 years ago when the original Rosie the Riveter is still working and doing the same work she was doing in 1942. Real name Elinor Otto worked at an aircraft assembly factory during WWII and is still a riveter today.

The original Rosie the Riveter first joined the workforce as a single mom in 1942, piecing together planes at Rohr Aircraft Corporation in Chula Vista to support the war effort. She went on to work at Ryan Aeronautical Co. in San Diego for 14 years, before moving to her current job at Long Beach's C-17 plant, the state of California's last large military aircraft production line, according to NBC News.

"I'm a working person, I guess. I like to work. I like to be around people that work," she told NBC News. "I like to get up, get out of the house, get something accomplished during the day."

She said she has "endless energy" and didn't want to retire because she had to support her mother and son. She is out of bed every morning at 4am and gets a coffee and newspaper, before starting work by 6am. The original Rossie the Riverter even parks as far the entrance to work in order to make it an exercise to get through the door.
