Perrie Edwards admits having a long distance relationship with fiance Zayn Malik isn't easy, but with a few Skype tips, she reveals how Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik keep their engagement fresh despite the distance.

Perrie Edwards reveals her two biggest tips for her long-distance relationship with fiance Zayn Malik when they talk via Skype: makeup and lighting.

The Little Mix singer explained her preparations before she Skypes with One Direction singer Zayn Malik.

Perry, 20, told The Mirror: "Do you know what, I do have to make an effort with make-up when I'm talking to Zayn on Skype.

"It makes you feel better. But you only have to put a bit on and it looks really good.

"I try to find some good lighting too. Sometimes I tip the lamp so it looks like I appear airbrushed and I'm like, 'Oh, I've just woken up', but really I haven't. But I look flawless because of the make-up.

"Or I go to a window for some natural light sometimes... that's the best."

Zayn Malik, also 20, proposed to Perrie last month, and it was first made public when she showed off her diamond engagement ring on the red carpet at One Direction's "This Is Us" film premiere in London, The Mirror reports.

The couple has been dating for two years, and they have previously admitted it isn't easy maintaining their long distance relationship, while they are touring with their bands throughout the year around the world.

But their relationship seems stronger than ever; Zayn recently got a cartoon-style image of his girlfriend tattooed on his upper arm.

He also declared: "I'd fly 10 planes to go home and see her."

But Perrie admitted she hasn't made any plans for the big day yet.

"I haven't started making any decisions yet wedding-wise" she says. "But I'm excited to start planning it all. I can't wait."
