Justin Timberlake 20/20 Album Reviews Mixed [VIDEO]; "Indulgent And Tedious" "Jarringly Generic Album"; Will It Win Over His Fans?

Justin Timberlake 20/20 album reviews are in, and many are quite critical of the boy band crooner's latest effort.
The Chicago Tribune says in their Justin Timberlake 20/20 album review that: "Many of the tracks are outfitted with lush orchestration and extended codas that at their best suggest a type of progressive pop or neo-soul music, but just as often come off as indulgent and tedious. At times it feels as though they're just showing off without really serving the song, as "True Blood"  drags to a close with a moody soundscape, "Amnesia" drifts through seven mostly unnecessary minutes, and "Only When I Walk Away" loses momentum but keeps plodding along."
Idolator has some harsh words in their Justin Timberlake 20/20 album review: "Volume 2 opens with a grand a cappella harmony - sort of a parallel to the sweeping strings that start the first installment. Unfortunately, it's one of the few striking moments on a jarringly generic album. Gone is the extravagance, gone is the classy entertainer charm, as Timberlake spends much of the first half of this volume sing-talking in his lower "cool dude" register, with listeners forced to claw through thickets of Timbaland tropes to find any semblance of a hook or chorus. Side one amounts to a lot of moving parts going nowhere."

Justin Timberlake's 20/20 album is part 2 of an album released earlier this year - and double albums can be difficult to fill with quality material, as many artists can attest.
People Magazine had some more positive things to say in their Justin Timberlake 20/20 album review: "It stands as a stellar set in its own right. Although it can't top its more challenging, cohesive predecessor - a few songs run too long, and a couple maybe could have been dropped - this more singles-driven disc actually has more to satisfy fans of Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds."
