Apple iWatch Concept: Apple Allegedly Testing Flexible Displays For Smartwatch, May Work With LG Instead

As early as last year, rumors have it that Apple is already developing a smartwatch after the failed first generation Sony SmartWatch. However, it seems the Cupertino company is willing to wait for one more year to give way to Samsung's Galaxy Gear and Sony's next generation variation. Now, several tech websites have reported that the new Apple iWatch concept will have flexible displays.

In fact, the company has reportedly started testing them out already.

According to Korean website Chosun Ilbo, some industry sources have tipped that Apple is currently developing flexible OLED displays which can be equipped in the company's upcoming iWatch, which could be released late next year.

The report from Techno Buffalo also says that the company is allegedly testing three variants already, screens with 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 inches. However, it seems Apple is gearing toward the larger version, which is still a little smaller than the screen estate of Samsung's Galaxy Gear.

In another report by GSM Arena, it seems Apple may be working with Samsung's homeland rival LG in developing the flexible displays.
