Kevin Love Trade To San Antonio Spurs? Tim Duncan Retirement Rumors Emerging! Spurs Will Need New Franchise Cornerstone! All-Star Forward Is Perfect Fit, But Are They Interested?

Kevin Love would be a perfect fit for the San Antonio Spurs! Gregg Popovich would make him strive harder and the Spurs have never missed the playoffs since Love was still in grade school.

Kevin Love is in the center of trade rumors as he is a coveted superstar who is disgruntled with his team. His feelings are borne out of missing the playoffs his entire career. Missing the playoffs is something the Spurs haven't done since 1997-when Love was only nine years old.

ESPN suggested that he would be a perfect fit, as well as heir apparent to Tim Duncan.

"In theory, the San Antonio Spurs would be a great landing spot for a star desperately in need of a winning experience. Like the Lakers, they have space for a 2015 Love signing. The Spurs also have trade pieces, depending on what they're willing to part with and whether the Wolves value Tiago Splitter's rim protection.

While some Spurs fans might scoff at the suggestion that Love would help the cause, there is the issue of how San Antonio replenishes what the Big Three leave behind. As Herbert Stein's Law dictates, 'If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.' Just because Tim Duncan has been successful long enough to feel timeless doesn't mean he's immune to time's ravages."

The Spurs are never mentioned as a free agent destination. They also don't have too many trade pieces. Their only asset aside from the Big Three is Kawhi Leonard. They have never had lottery picks (they haven't missed the playoffs) except for Leonard, whom they traded for-and is not considered the steal of the 2010 draft.

Free agents who claim that they prioritize winning are lying since they do not consider the Spurs. It's not a "party city" like Miami, not a big market like LA. Certain types of players are satisfied with it. They're the same type of players whom Popovich prefers--the same type of players who really want to win.

Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Love both missed the playoffs this year. If their only concern is getting back in the postseason, they know where to go.
