Install Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On Samsung Galaxy Note; Custom ROM Available For GT-N7000 Phablet

Owners of Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 can now install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on their phablet.

Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 was released in 2011, according to GSM Arena. The device has pre-installed Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and it can officially be updated to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

However, with a custom firmware, Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 users can easily install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Accordingly, a custom ROM, called C-ROM, based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has been released for the first-generation of Samsung Galaxy Note.

Particularly, the C-ROM is based on Android Open Source Project and it is compatible with GT-N7000 variant of Samsung Galaxy Note. The C-ROM for Android 4.4.2 KitKat update was shared by "vocoderism," a senior XDA member.

As posted on International Business Time, C-ROM is "similar to stock KitKat look and Google's UI." Those who are planning to install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 via C-ROM will get customized features, and faster and smoother performance.

For those who will install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000, there are some requirements to satisfy to ensure a successful installation process.

Check the model number of the phablet. As aforementioned, the C-ROM based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is available only for GT-N7000.

The battery level of the device should be 80 percent or more to prevent power interruption issues while installing Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000.

Enable USB Debugging mode on the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 by going to Settings >> Developer Options.

Make a backup of the data and settings stored on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. Use custom recovery tools such as ClockWorkMod or TWRP.
