Beauty & The Beast live-action movie adaptation is currently in the works as "The Perks of Being A Wallflower" star Emma Watson still attached to the project taking on the titular role as Beauty.

The film was supposedly released in 2012 but had been delayed for various reasons particularly with director Guillermo Del Toro's other commitments and it can be remembered from one of his interviews that he intended to do the film this year as he wants Watson to be on her prime before doing the film.

"It's a movie that you have to make in the next few years for Emma to be perfect for the part," he explained. "I think she is the perfect character to do that movie."

With Watson's graduating from college, it seems that the film's production is most likely to pursue.

"I hope so. Del Toro] always has so many things he's working on at once, so we're still putting it together. I hope so," "The Perks of Being A Wallflower" star said.

Guillermo del Toro admits to MTV News that a "Beauty and the Beast" 2014 movie is in the works saying:

"It's one of those landmarks, one of those holy grails, and I really hope to do it," del Toro said. "We're just starting the process."

The film is just in its early stages with only Watson and del Toro attached to the film, Beauty's love interest, Beast has yet to be cast.

Originally, del Toro was reportedly asked to produce the classic fairy tale alongside "Crazy, Stupid, Love" producer Denise Di Novi, he claimed with MTV News that he'd rather helm the film.

It has also been reported that "Beauty and the Beast" 2014 movie will be a classic retelling of the tale as old as time and not a modernized story, like Snow White's remake "Snow White and the Huntsman" or another classics like Hansel and Gretel and Jack and the Beanstalk.
