Sale dazzled in his first start off the DL vs. the Yankees, striking out 10 in six one-hit innings. He was on a pitch count as he rebuilds his arm strength following a strained left flexor muscle but will likely be less restricted vs. Cleveland, according to MLB.com.

"He was fantastic tonight," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said on Thursday. "He was probably as sharp as we've seen him."

His fastball topped out at 96 mph in the first inning of his last start, per MLB.com Gameday, but still was hitting 95 in the sixth. Sale struck out the side in the first and in the third and added two more strikeouts in the fourth, fanning five in a row.

"I don't think I've ever been more excited to give up a hit in my life," Sale said after his last start. "I knew I was done after that sixth, and Robin said the same thing. He goes, 'You picked a bad night to do something like that.'"

Justin Masterson (2-3, 523. ERA) will be on the mound for the Indians as he is coming off normal rest. In his last start, he had to pitch on three-days rest and allowed five runs in the start as he couldn't get out of the sixth inning. He did go five strong innings without allowing a run until he allowed five with two outs in the sixth.

"I think when Masty's going good, there's always a part during the game when maybe he loses his two-seam for a few pitches. The quicker he reels it in, he limits damage and just goes about his business," Indians manager Terry Francona said before his last start.
