On the mound to help the Rays win will be Chris Archer (3-2, 4.11 ERA). Archer held the Red Sox scoreless in six innings Friday. He tied a career high with 11 strikeouts and set a career high for pitches (119). Archer faced the Jays on April 3 and picked up the win at Tropicana Field after allowing two runs in six innings. He understands that it will be tough to beat this lineup again.

"These are world-class hitters with world-class hand-eye coordination," Archer told MLB.com. "They recognize a pitch that's three inches off immediately. No matter who I'm facing, I don't think about past success. I remember how I got them out, but I don't get over excited because I've done well against a guy in the past. Because you know, it's a game of inches and every game is different. I just focus on the same thing every game: pitch execution."

Liam Hendricks (1-0, 1.59 ERA) will take the ball for Toronto for what is his only second start with the Jays. He gave up three hits and one run while walking three. It was his first appearance in a Major League game since September of last year, en route to a victory.

"It's a huge thing for me," Hendriks, who was selected off waivers by three clubs between December and February, told MLB.com. "I was given an opportunity in Minnesota and I didn't capitalize on it. Now I have a different mindset of coming into the season, getting ready, getting aggressive and getting after guys early. I think it's paid dividends so far, and hopefully I can continue this trend and stay up here all year."
