Install Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On Samsung Galaxy S4 Active; XXUCNE5 Firmware Update For GT-I9295 Model Now Available!

Owners of Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, the rugged version of the 2013 flagship smartphone of the South Korean manufacturer, can now install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

The official Android 4.4.2 KitKat updatereleased for Samsung Galaxy S4 Active,  with build number I9295XXUCNE5, is specifically compatible with the international model for the variant, which bears the model number GT-I9295.

According to a post on Android Geeks, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active users can now install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update via Over-the-Air or OTA process. Particularly, the Android 4.4.2 update is now being rolled out to Netherlands.

Other Samsung Galaxy S4 Active users who wish to install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on their dust and water-resistant smartphone will have to wait for a bit longer for the firmware to be available via OTA upgrade process.  

According to International Business Times, the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update brings in various enhancements such as improved battery life, camera shortcut on the lockscreen, white status bar icons, support for wireless printing and more.

Users who cannot wait for the firmware via OTA can opt for the manual process to install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The manual installation process will require the use of ODIN tool.

Meanwhile, there are some requirements to fulfill before proceeding to install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.

First, the battery level of the smartphone should be 80 percent or more to avoid power interruption issues once the installation process begins.

Second, check the model number of the smartphone. Again, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active users who are using the international model (GT-I9295) are the only ones allowed to install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

Make sure to create a back of the data and settings stored on the phone first before installing the firmware update. Custom recovery tools such as ClockWorkMod can be used.
