Oppo N1 Mini Release Date Coming Soon, Can It Take On The HTC One Mini 2 And The Unannounced Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini?

After weeks of speculation, the Oppo N1 mini release date has finally been revealed, and by the company itself. And it looks like the manufacturer has already everything figured out.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Oppo released a promo image of its upcoming press event for the Oppo N1 mini, and it would be by the end of the week, May 30 to be exact.

However, even before the Android-powered smartphone gets unveiled, we are already wondering how it would fare against other 'mini' smartphones from world renowned manufacturers.

The HTC One mini 2 has just been made official and is now available in selected markets worldwide. Meanwhile, Samsung's upcoming mini version of its Galaxy S5 flagship is also reportedly under way.

The upcoming smartphone will have big shoes to fill as the Oppo N1 became a hit late last year due to its rotating 13MP camera. The handset also packs decent specs which include a quad-core CPU, Snapdragon 600 and 2GB of RAM.

So what does the Oppo N1 mini have in store for Android enthusiasts and Oppo fans?

The Chinese company is rumored to bring a 5-inch display to the N1 mini (which means it would not be that 'mini' at all). However, we expect the resolution to stay at only 1280 x 720 resolution to keep its midrange status.

Other rumored specs include an octa-core CPU which could either be a MediaTek MT6592 or an Exynos5422 Octa, which would power the smartphone alongside probably a 1GB RAM.

However, what would certainly get the attention of fans is the rotating camera which would also arrive with the N1 mini, just like its bigger sibling.

So far, that's all we have got about the Oppo N1 mini. As far as its Android version, other features and build, we still have no idea. Fortunately, we will find our answers before the week ends during Oppo's press event.
