After the recent release of the compact version of HTC's 2014 flagship device, the mobile industry is now comparing HTC One M8 and the Mini 2.

As expected, HTC One Mini 2, the smaller version of the flagship device is fairly similar to the HTC One M8. But of course, there are major differences between these two variants.

HTC One M8 vs. Mini 2: Release Date

HTC One M8 was released earlier this year. Particularly, as mentioned on GSM Arena's spec list for the game, the HTC One M8 was made available in the market on March 2014.

Meanwhile, HTC One Mini 2 was only released earlier this month.

The HTC One M8

HTC One M8 comes with 5-inch screen and a super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen. The screen resolution of the 2014 smartphone is 1080 x 1920 pixels.

Meanwhile, the HTC One Mini 2 is equipped with a 4.5-inch screen, resolution of 720 x 1280p, plus a Super LCD2 capacitive touchscreen resolution.

The handset weighs only 137 g; however, the phone is 0.42 inches thick. Even then, it is easy to hold in one hand, the thickness of this compact version is comparatively higher than all the flagship phones released this year.

The post also commended HTC Mini 2's viewing angles and color reproduction the Mini 2 has commendable viewing angles and its amazing color reproduction.

HTC One M8 vs. Mini 2: Hardware Specs

As for the HTC One Mini 2 specs, the smaller model gets a quad-core Cortex A7 Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.2 GHZ clockspeed and 1 GB RAM.

On the other hand, the HTC One M8 sports a quad-core Krait 400 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 for its chipset.

HTC One M8 vs. Mini 2: Camera

One of the major spec differences of HTC One M8 and HTC One Mini 2 has something to do with the camera. HTC One M8 features the Duo Camera which has Dual 4 MP lens.

And unlike the original HTC One M8 model, the HTC One Mini 2 boasts of 13 MP sensor with LED flash. Reportedly, HTC One Mini 2 can also record Full HD videos.
