2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Kyrie Irving Offered The Max Contract By Cleveland! 'Uncle Drew' Is On The Hot Seat! Will He Stay With The Cavs?

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions have started long ago, but the actual free agency starts in a few hours-midnight of July 1. That time will see the teams making a play for their own prize free agents.

The Toronto Raptors are already meeting with prized point guard Kyle Lowry. You can't blame them, as the Miami Heat, LA Lakers, NY Knicks and every team needing a point guard is working out a way to make an offer.

Kyrie Irving is one of the most popular young stars in the NBA. It can also be contested that he took the All-Star spot that should've gone to Lowry. The Cavaliers have always been wary about their superstars walking out on them and seeking greener pastures a.k.a bigger markets and better chances of winning.

In 2010, the roster of the Cavaliers was built around LeBron James. In 2010, LeBron James bailed on them. The Cavs were left in shambles.

Four years and three first overall draft choices later, the Cavaliers' star point guard Kyrie Irving, the first of their three top picks, is on the board for a contract extension. The Cavaliers are going to make their due diligence-and they will not waste a minute.

From the Cleveland Plain Dealer a couple of weeks ago:

"My sources tell me that the Cavs have had no doubts about offering Irving the 5-year deal, and will do so. Once July 1 arrives -- the first date that an extension can be offered -- the Cavs will set up a meeting with Irving. They will present their All-Star guard with a contract extension, a 5-year deal in the $90 million range (or whatever is the maximum number).

The Cavs' goal is to have a new coach in place. Then have General Manager David Griffin, the coach and Irving discuss the future. Now, if Irving doesn't seem interested in an extension, that could lead to a trade."

This was recently confirmed by ESPN's Chris Broussard. Hours before the start of free agency, the Cavs are moving:
