2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Derrick Rose Not Recruiting Carmelo Anthony; 'It's Not My Job, If They Want To Come, They Can Come'

While everyone is in frenzy over 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions, Derrick Rose just ain't got time for recruiting.

It may sound controversial for some, but the former NBA Most Valuable Player is simply keeping it real. Yahoo Sports has his quotes:

"(It's) not my job. My thing is if they want to come, they can come."

Before there is any controversy about him and Carmelo Anthony- the Bulls' prime free agent target, Rose sets the record straight. He believes that he and Melo can complement each other on the same team. But he's just not the type of guy who recruits, and it's not his decision to make.

"I love Melo's game. He's a great player. Takes the game serious.(sic) He's consistent. He shoots the ball great. I love his heart. I can play with anybody, no matter who it is. I believe I can play with anyone if they step on the court with me."

Besides, Derrick Rose has other things to worry about. Foremost on his mind is his recovery from injury and getting back to his pre-injury form. There is also a standing invitation to USA Basketball camp: "I still don't know yet.  If I'm feeling right and the time is [right], for sure I will go out there. My body is responding good, but you never know. Right now, I haven't really thought about that. I am just worrying about just trying to get back every day and I'm really taking rehab one day at a time instead of trying to think about competing."

About his MVP award-and whether he can still play like one: "I think I was ready a long time ago. Right now is about just getting all the wrinkles out. I've been playing for a long time, even though nobody has [seen it]. I want to just step on the court and I want people to see that I'm the same."
