Samsung Galaxy Note 8 KitKat Update: Android 4.4.2 Now Available On Tablet’s LTE Variant Comes To Bell, Telus, Rogers Users; Upgrade Brings No Issues For Most Users

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 KitKat update: Android 4.4.2 is now available to the tablet’s LTE variant. Though the same update has been available for some U.S. users for quite some time, the confirmation that it has arrived on Bell, Telus, and Rogers users have only surfaced a few days ago.

According to Mobile Syrup, if you have yet to receive a notification on your tablet, it’s best to check for updates as Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS is now available. You can go to Settings, then About Tablets, then System Updates.

In a simple poll KpopStarz did with our users, six out seven users said they had no issues with the upgrade. One user named Davy said however that he had no video after he downloaded the OS update.

“Kitkat runs smoothly on my Galaxy Note 8 GT-N5100. Had to uninstall all apps that stopped working and reinstalled them and the tablet runs just fine. Still considering an upgrade to Note 10.1 2014 Edition though,” says Kufre Udobong.

User Champ offered a solution to the update:

“I have had kitkat on my note 8 for weeks and haven't run into any issues. The Samsung video and editing software was having issues updating, to fix that I Uninstalled all of the update to the older version then updated to the new version and it has worked well.”

To refresh your memory, Phone Arena reminds us of the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 below. Please note that the tablet came with Android 4.1.2 out of the box at the time of the description’s writing.

“The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is an 8-inch Android tablet by Samsung with S Pen functionality. It features a 1,280 x 800-pixel TFT screen, powered by a quad-core 1.6GHz processor, all running on Android 4.1.2. Its most notable features are the extremely thin body, expandable storage and light weight. It comes in a 3G or Wi-Fi version.”
