Bruno Mars ‘Just The Way You Are’ Song Helped Coma Patient Recover; Crooner Serenades Young Car Crash Victim

Bruno Mars' 'Just the Way You Are' single is more than just a pop song as it reportedly helped the recovery of 11-year-old Zumyah Thorpe who suffered physical and brain injuries following a car crash.

In 2013, a drunk driver slammed into Thorpe's mother's car. The accident took away the lives of her pregnant mother as well as her two younger sisters. Thorpe was left in a critical state but while she was recovering, she listened to the pop crooner's songs - something which her nurses at the UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital made sure to play every night.

As a way of extending his gratitude, the 'When I Was Your Man' hit maker serenaded Thorpe during his last Saturday's concert in Cleveland, Ohio.

Thorpe's doctor believes that the hit 'Just the Way You Are' single inspired the young survivor to walk again.

"I'm absolutely convinced that singing those Bruno Mars songs and being able to say 'Bruno Mars' is in itself a miracle...knowing all the words to the songs has helped her recover," said Doctor Nancy Bass to People.

Prior to the concert, Thorpe was able to meet her inspiration. As per Mail Online, the 'Grenade' singer gifted her with a teddy bear as well as a bag filled with undisclosed items.

Concert goers also said that Thorpe received Mars' fedora and guitar while he was performing the tribute song.
