Red Velvet was recently in Thailand for a fan meeting. During the said event, member Irene revealed the real reason why the group is in the country.
According to Koreaboo, Red Velvet's Irene revealed that the group is currently in the country not just for the fan meeting and promotions, but mainly to shoot a reality show. The yet untitled show will be Red Velvet's first one ever.
Red Velvet members also revealed that they will be holding concerts soon. Irene stated during the fan meeting that the group would be back soon so it is possible that the girl group will hold a concert at the country for their countless fans.
Fans were happy to hear the revelation. Apart from fan performing in this year's SXSW and K-Con, it has been almost three years since Red Velvet has been active. The group has also never starred in a show nor held a concert for the said duration.
Earlier this year, Red Velvet has also announced that they will now start accepting suggestions for the girl group's official fan club. Fans have already begun guessing that Red Velvets concert will be announced with the official fans club name at the same time.
In other news, former member of I.O.I Somi and Red Velvet's Seulgi will become cast members of KBS' upcoming variety show "Idol Drama Royalty." This was confirmed by KBS on Mar. 28.
"Red Velvet's Seulgi and Jeon Somi are confirmed to appear on Idol Drama Royalty," said a KBS representative. "The show will be released both through mobile platforms and the internet."
According to All Kpop, "Idol Drama Royalty" will let Somi, Red Velvet's Seulgi and other female K-pop idols make their own scripts and act them out afterward just like in an actual drama. The show is reportedly recruiting 8 girls from various girl groups.
However, there is still no confirmation whether "Idol Drama Royalty" will be broadcast on TV. What's sure, though, is that Red Velvet fans are already excited to see Seulgi.
