Blackjacks waiting for former 2NE1 main vocalist Park Bom's solo album may have to wait a bit longer until she sorts out her issues with YG Entertainment. It seems that Park Bom is under the impression that she is signed under YG sub-label "The Black Label" but YG reps are disputing her claim.
It can be recalled that an Instagram post by Park Bom over the weekend caused many Blackjacks, the official fandom of 2NE1, to hope that the singer may be getting ready to do her solo album much like her former groupmates. Her post was captioned "I'm going back," while showing her on the seaside, Korea Portal reported.
The post immediately drew reactions from the fans who asked her to return to the studio already because they miss her beautiful voice. Park Bom replied to the fans that they would need to ask YG and producer Teddy about her solo comeback.
In a recent tweet, Park Bom replied to a fan theory that the former 2NE1 vocalist may be signed under YG's sub-label "The Black Label," one of the sub-labels operated by YG Entertainment under the lead of power duo Teddy and Kush. Park Bom confirmed that she's with "The Black Label".
However, fresh reports from All Kpop cited a statement from YG Entertainment denying that the singer is signed under the YG sub-label. "It's not at all true that Park Bom is going to be with The Black Label led by producer Teddy. She did not sign with The Black Label."
This was not the first time that confusion about Park Bom 's affiliation with YG has cropped up. It can be recalled that at the height of the news of 2NE1's disbandment, Park Bom was reported to be the only one among the remaining 2NE1 members who did not renew her contract with YG. Minzy has earlier signed with Music Works, the producer of her recently released album UNO. However, Park Bom clarified through a tweet that she was still with YG. Amid the confusion, Park Bom's career remains at a standstill while CL is working on the international release of her solo album "Lifted" where she works with Justin Bieber's agent Scooter Braun and YG. Sandara Park is also fully booked with endorsement deals and new acting gigs after the success of her debut movie "One Step." She is also eyeing a summer release for her own solo album, Kpopstarz reported.
