With BTS and TWICE smashing records left and right in the Korean and world charts, it comes as no surprise that the two K-pop groups are the leading choices of entertainment agencies. The two idol groups emerged as the top picks in a survey conducted on 20 entertainment agencies,
According to a report by SBS Pop Asia, the agencies who participated in the survey include Amoeba Culture, Big Hit Entertainment, Brand New Music, Cube Entertainment, GYM Entertainment, Happy Robot Record, Jellyfish Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. Outfits like MBK Entertainment, Mystic Entertainment, Pledis Entertainment, RBW, Santa Music, Starship Entertainment, SM Entertainment, Star Empire, Widmay Entertainment, Woollim Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and YNB Entertainment were also part of the polls.
Out of a possible 20 votes, BTS got 18 votes while TWICE got 17 out of 20 votes in the survey conducted by Sports Chosun. BTS is currently being handled by Big Hit Entertainment while TWICE is under JYP Entertainment.
The two groups are known to have the strongest fanbases in Korea and around the world. BTS' Army enabled the group to achieve the most number of views in 24 hours for their latest single "Not Today". Meanwhile, TWICE's current single "Knock Knock" are also posting new charts records while its viral "TT" MV has recently become one of the fastest tracks to reach 150 million views in only four months' time since its upload.
"BTS has been creating tailor-made content, from the initial planning process to what kind of fans to target," one of respondents said. "When you look at their contents, you can't not acknowledge why they are on top."
TWICE, on the other hand, was credited for having a diverse line-up and unique personalities which appeal to different types of audiences. The fact that their songs are easy to follow and relatable are also cited as reasons that the girls are doing so well in album sales.
