Will Park Bom be switching to another music label following the latest snub by YG Entertainment? It seems that the former 2NE1 member may have to look for another "home" after YG blatantly called her out on her statement that she is signed with its sub-label "The Black Label" managed by producer Teddy and Kush.
It can be recalled that Park Bom's recent Instagram post which was simply captioned "I'm going back," sparked hope for Blackjacks waiting for solo comeback. When Park Bom's thread was flooded with queries on when she would return to the studio to record her own music, she said fans should address their inquiries to YG or Teddy. Korea Portal reported.
Upon reading her statement, some fans immediately connected Park Bom's statement to YG Entertainment's sub-label "The Black Label" which is led by Teddy and Kush. A fan raised the possibility that Park Bom may be one of the artists included in "The Black Label" roster. In a reply on Twitter, Park Bom confirmed that she was indeed signed with "The Black Label."
However, only a few hours has passed that a YG rep debunked Park Bom's claims. YG announced that they never signed the former 2NE1 main vocalist to "The Black Label," making the fans even more confused about the future of Park Bom's solo career, Kpopstarz reported.
Since 2NE1's disbandment, there has hardly been any news about Park Bom's solo comeback. It was earlier reported that she was the only one among the three remaining 2NE1 members who did not renew her contract with YG but the singer has clarified that she remains with the label. While Minzy has released her first solo album UNO under a different label Music Works, CL is working on her own solo album "Lifted" and Sandara has announced plans to release her solo album this summer, there remains no concrete news about Park Bom's next move.
It is unclear whether the latest statement from YG is an indication that they have other plans for Park Bom or if they are completely ready to let her go. For now, fans wonder if the latest snub from her mother label would be enough to compel the singer to seek greener pastures elsewhere like 2NE1 maknae Minzy. In another Twitter post, Park Bom maintained that she was telling the truth and that she has spoken to YG and Teddy about signing with "The Black Label." She also replied to another fan who was trying to tell her to move to another label that will appreciate her. "Thankx for your advice. I believe that you're one of my fans and appreciate that you are trying to help me to be in a good and better situation."
