BIGBANG's G-Dragon Says Sorry For T.O.P's Marijuana Scandal

VIPs, BIGBANG's official fandom came in full force at the Kyocera Dome in Japan over the weekend to witness a special event by remaining BIGBANG members G-Dragon, Daesung, Taeyang, and Seungri. Amid the temporary hiatus of BIGBANG member T.O.P. and the recent controversy surrounding the rapper, G-Dragon addressed the issues with an apology.

According to a report by All Kpop, G-Dragon made an apology to the fans for making them worry about the K-pop group and swore that it will not happen again. It was reported last week that BIG BANG's T.O.P., who is currently serving his two-year mandatory enlistment as a conscripted police office for Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's band unit, was found positive for marijuana after a drug test conducted on his hair follicle in March.

It was reported that a female trainee was caught by police for marijuana and pinpointed the BIGBANG rapper when she was interrogated by the police about whom she was with when she did the drugs. This prompted the police to conduct a follicle test on T.O.P. which resulted in a positive outcome. Based on the official statement of YG Entertainment, T.O.P. acknowledged the use of marijuana last year prior to his military enlistment this February. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office for further action.

In his message to the fans, G-Dragon, who is the leader of BIG BANG asked for the fans' continued patience and understanding regarding the matter. "I am sorry for causing trouble. I promise something like this will never happen again. Please keep supporting us," G-Dragon said as he addressed the issue.

This was not the first time that a BIG BANG member was involved in a drug controversy as G-Dragon himself was the subject of similar controversy in 2011. The BIG BANG leader was found positive for marijuana but denied ever using the drug. After further investigation, the indictment was suspended after the prosecutor's found that G-Dragon's claims of only attending a party where drugs may have been used, along with the weak positive result of his test, were consistent. Still, YG and G-Dragon issued a public apology for not being careful about the singer's actions, Soompi reported.
