The Chainsmokers Pick BIG BANG and CL As their Favorite K-pop Artists; Is A Multi-Artist Collaboration Possible?

Is a collaboration possible for The Chainsmokers and K-pop artists? The duo of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall recently opened up about the K-pop acts that they would most likely want to work with and said that they are only waiting for the right time to kick off a project.

According to a report by Koreaboo, The Chainsmokers, in a recent interview with Yonhap News, acknowledged great music that comes from Korean artists. They said that they listen to a lot of K-pop music and are interested to collaborate with some notable K-pop stars.

The Chainsmokers, in particular, named BIG BANG and CL as their top picks when it comes to K-pop music. BIG BANG, with its 11 year track record as one of the pioneers of the Hallyu wave, has proven their mettle on the world stage with their top selling albums and sold out shows in different locations in the world.

CL, the leader of the recently disbanded K-pop group 2NE1 is start her solo career in Korea and in the US. She is currently working on her solo album "Lifted" with Scooter Braun, renowned agent of international superstars Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

"We want to work and collaborate with a K-Pop artist that shares the same visions that we have," The Chainsmokers said. "We're just waiting for the best timing for that."

The Chainsmokers, which recently came out with their first full length album "Memories: Do Not Open" have been collaborating with different types of artists since the beginning of their career. Some of their hits include "Closer" featuring Halsey, "Don't Let Me Down" featuring Daya, "Kanye" featuring SirenXX, "Let You Go" featuring Great Good Fine OK and "Something Just Like This" featuring Coldplay.

It would not be impossible for a collaboration to happen between CL and The Chainsmokers since she is targeting the US market for her upcoming single, but Alex and Andrew may have to wait a bit before they can collaborate with BIG BANG since its members T.O.P., G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri are all awaiting their enlistment schedules for mandatory military service. The Chainsmokers could however, work on a project with the individual members of the group who have not yet enlisted, for the meantime. It could even be a multi-artist collaboration since BIG BANG and CL are all managed by YG Entertainment.

The possible collaboration between BTS leader Rap Monster and the Chainsmokers was recently floated online following a twitter interaction between the official BTS and The Chainsmokers accounts. Rap Monster posted that he was listening to a track from the duo's album and The Chainsmokers prompty thanked him for the support, reported Kpopstarz.
